| Michelle Reeves Photgrapher: Originally from Austin, Texas, I began taking digital photographs in 2002 with an inexpensive digital camera. A move to Northwest Arkansas in 2003 helped to develop a love of nature and an eye for distinctive shots. Trees and flowers, birds, wildlife and farm animals, water features, historic and artistic structures, and distinctive individuals are some of my most favorite subjects. Since my first digital camera, I've upgraded to a Kodak DX6490 (in 2005), then to a Sony DSC-H1 (in 2006) and most recently to a Nikon D40 (a DSLR). No digital enhancements are made to my photographs other than cropping and sometimes changing the photograph to a sepia tone or black and white. In some instances, I'll utilize computer software to dramatically alter an image for an artistic effect, but always notes this as a purposeful alteration and not a natural capture. Artist: If I can embellish it, I will. That's kind of my motto when it comes to using beads, patterned paper, colored wire, paint and found items to decorate glass bottles and matchboxes, painting sayings on stones (or walls), creating mobiles out of driftwood and shells, designing jewelry and bookmarks and any other technique I can implement. I love creating art, and whether or not I'm good at it, it's been one of the best forms of therapy I've ever received. |
